Today was the first time since the last post that Biggreentruck used any fuel of any kind. Ah, the benefits of living and working at the same place!
Yosemite is really close as the crow flies to Midpines. The regional bus even stops right in front of basecamp. Alas, the rockslide on Hwy 140 has isolated us from El Portal.
The 45 minute trip is now a 2 1/2 hour journey. The communities of Midpines and Mariposa are definitely feeling loss of tourist traffic into the Park. We went last weekend to check out the slide. Geology is actually exciting when it's happening in real time!
